Hard to Say Goodbye

by Kayla   Oct 26, 2006

Remembering the days when you held my had and walked me across the street
The good advice you gave me every time we speak

The laughters we shared in our time of despair
The love you gave me when no one else was there

The days you picked me up I felt on top of the world
And when you you laid me down to sleep you said,"Sweet dreams baby girl".

When ever I seen you my face lite up like a star
But I missed you every time you went so far

It's been two years now and no one is able to find a cure
No one knew how long you were going to live for sure

You fought your way through treatment, doctors, and IV'S
You said you wouldn't give up, and you made that promise to me

Within months you were back on your feet
Cherishing the moments we had every time we meet

Even though you had to use oxygen tanks just to get around
You never let little things like that get you down

Your spirit always remained high
And even when your body was in pain you never cried

But now you lay without the knowledge of who you are
Your body is all bruised, battered, and scared

When I see you, I try to hold my tears back and not cry
Cause for me it's hard to say goodbye.

On the third last line, did you want "scarred" - not scared (afraid).

The whole story was very comprehensive. 5/5.
