Friendship (Objective Correlative!)

by Liquid Dreams   Oct 26, 2006

A tender thing, it is
One time broken, now fragile.
Only time can mend the wounds,
Can build the trust to endure.
Like the cattle grazing;
They must know the grass well.
Just the same, it must be known.
The level is different.
But can't the grass change, too?
Learning takes time and effort;
The effort is worth taking, even again - If you believe.

(An objective correlative is a situation or a sequence of events or objects that evokes a particular emotion in a reader or audience.)
