Life and Family

by Nicole Nolen   Nov 2, 2006

On June 14, 1988, this was the day my sister and I came into this world.
As I got older, things in life got harder
I know more now, than when I was younger. I learned about reality and
How this world ain't perfect and how it affects lives today.

Now I'm eighteen. I have to stay clean from drugs, gangs and so on forth.
And stay away from thugs who think they own these streets.
Our world ain't perfect, but we continue to work with it.
My family and me has a bond, that's so strong, nothing can take it.

We are like warriors, fighting in the war.
To protect the ones we love from harm and danger.
Like people who are total strangers.
Love keeps us together.

My sister and I are the aunts of a four-year-old nephew.
Who is as sweet as a dove, a smile bright as the sun.
Everyone in my family shows him love. He's as lovable as a soft teddy bear.

My loving parents have spent the last 22 years together.
December 16, 1983, was the day they were committed. To spend the rest of their lives together with their three beautiful daughters.
I hope they remain forever and always.

Here I am today; 18 years old.
Pretty brown eyes that glare.
Deep dimples that shows.
So when I'm happy you'll know.
