Bitter Kiss

by Sentient   Nov 2, 2006

Smothered in raspberry flavored gloss
Our lips make a new connection as we kiss
And all of the sweetness that you masked it with
Doesn't cover the bitterness hidden within
It's subtle at first, just an aftertaste
That I can't quite put my finger on
But it grows tarter everyday we meet
And nearly unbearable in not too long
I realize what I feel when it's too late
It's dread that sits in my heart
Giving this situation another chance
To grow into something disastrous, bitter, and tart
