Sad-eyed Angel

by Hannah Emellia   Nov 3, 2006

Bittersweet perfection,
Brings a tear-drop to my eye,
You always want- what you cannot get,
Now spread those wings and fly,

Jaded from beginning to end,
This story can't go on,
For fear and anger, hate, and greed,
Are no longer what we need,

Broken here and all alone,
Twisted and withered to stay,
A strangled cry heard through the night,
My sad-eyed angel has flown away,

Now I truly know this sadness,
Maybe I should die?
Just a thought I cannot banish,
Why not me, oh why?

(I was inspired to write this poem from reading a book about this dude. Heh. Well It's called "NIGHT" And it's a true story. In that book they hung a child... and that's the sad-eyed angel.)
