Tonight

by Raychel   Nov 3, 2006

Tonight breath escaped me,
One last time.
I thought we could be,
But you refuse to be mine.

Love really was my downfall,
Literally my demise,
I guess I was just always completely naive,
Tonight I learned I wasn't so wise.

I don't think that killing me,
Was really your intention,
But I found that your love isn't symbolic,
Tonight I learned that lesson.

I cocked the gun,
And put it to my head.
True love really does have a cost,
Tonight I became dead.
