The Consequence of Formation

by Shane   Nov 5, 2006

I used the finest parts in my aim
Every perfection I could imagine was yours
I gave it a name, a task, a function
When it worked, when it failed,
A flaw or two kept you human
But the essence of love prevailed, and I was satisfied

Too beautiful not to capture him
The stairs to that pedestal I made were high enough to reach you
In making you human, you were vulnerable
Dependence I didn't teach you
Committed by word but not action
You never waited long enough for me to understand

Must I then oppose the wind
Whenever you see fit?
Fall right into place if you simply will it?
Wait for you to learn and see
You built me, like I built you
We both were wrong but i'll confess to this

That every kiss you gave away hurt less
Than knowing every smile you've shown
Was never meant for me to own.
