The Innocence Of Youth

by Theresa   Nov 5, 2006

He acts so innocent.
He knows that what he did was wrong.
But being known is better
Though he wont be popular for long.

Its amazing what he would go through
To get one ounce of social glory.
Destroying her reputation
Exaggerating the story.

What he said she did
Isn't true at all
Ive known her forever
That low, she would never fall

He turned a respectable woman
Into something like a store.
The guys all shop for ones like her
Hoping one night they'll score.

The boys whistle as she passes
They get excited from within.
Fantasies of having her
With them, she would have never been.

She smiles though
Even when they're mean.
She accepts them as immature
But inside, she screams.

A week later
He is forgotten.
But her new rep. stays,
The kids are still talking.

And so goes
The destruction of a girl.
And the innocence of him,
Is as lost as a pearl.
