Teary-Eyed

by XSugarSexSuicideX   Nov 5, 2006

She gazes at him in pure wonder,
Love is bursting from her heart,
But when he turns his face towards her,
She can see nothing in his eyes,
Nothing but a solemn look of indifference,
A shadowed mask of nothing,
She seeks a clue, a hint,
That maybe he cares,
But, as she looks on,
His girlfriend calls,
And the look on his face switches,
Switches to a smile, and a gleam,
How can she live like that?
Watching him, as tears well up in her eyes,
Never knowing, always hoping,
Maybe someday, but until then,
She watches teary-eyed,
As her lover walks away,
All the while he’s thinking,
Oh well, maybe someday.
