My love, my soldier

My soldier is going off to war,
To give others hope to give them more,
He holds me and whispers in my ear,
A whisper and a kiss,
He says do things that he will miss.
He smiles bravely as he walks away,
I will never once forget this day.
I try to stay strong and hide my fears,
But there is no disguising these falling tears.
Away he goes and away goes my heart,
For he takes half of me as we part.

I lay in bed trying to sleep,
But his face I see and I weep.
I cry all night and most of the day,
Sadness takes hold in such a strong way,
I want to be strong and show him I can,
For I am so very proud of my army man.

Please come home soon,
Come back to us safe,
For my heart you take with you,
Untill you come home to me once more,
Stay strong my love for freedom is what you fight for.

    Awwwww!! I just thought i would write and say i know what you are going through. I hope that everything is going ok. My best friend and the love of my life just left and how do i know if he's coming back. This world is horrible and i dread each day knowing that he is sooo far away. But i hope that each of our soldiers far and wide come home safe and sound. Especially ours.
