My star

by tanya fenton   Nov 6, 2006

It glows in the mist of the night,
While thousands of eyes gaze at it unconsciously.
It is not rare or special,
Yet I look at it and the others disappear.

Soon it will slowly die,
Its tranquil glow will soon fade.
But the memories I have will stay alight,
Like an everlasting candle.

I lay on the wooden dock,
Listening to the peaceful lake
Feeling miniature to them all
It brought unforgettable peace to my thoughts.

A star; so common in the skies above,
So peacefully bright just watching us.
It seems nameless and distant,
Glowing in the mist of the night.
