Shattered Glass

by Lyndsay Kalyta   Nov 6, 2006

As clean as it will ever be,
it's stained,
with drops of pain, and tears
are scattered helplessly throughout
Spread out, so as to block all view,
Covering up exactly what to do
Thoughts are wrapped, entrapped
In all jealousy and envy
knowing it will never be, beautiful,
It would take a miracle
to make it shine
so many times it's been tossed
it's so dull and it's easy to tell
It's fragile, and needs to be handled
with care, it needs protection almost everywhere it goes
It's longing to be shown it's important
It's past is vivid after all this time, still,
It's hurting, and it feels it always will
It's been waiting for forever,
But it's never going to come
It's not that lucky
It feels so empty, so torn apart
Scarred from all its past
It's finding it's hard to peice back together
Because it's just a piece of shattered glass
