Mother Earth

by catherine   Nov 7, 2006

I look down the river.
The gracious mountains stand,
Closer and closer they form,
The most beautiful band.

They chant for beauty,
They chant for love.
But most of all.
They chant to above.

They sing to the clouds,
So they are not forgotten.
Without remembrance,
They will be broken.

"Oh please," they sing,
"Save us our lives!"
"No," the she occasionally thinks,
when she hears their cries.

"Why do I want this racket?
Why should I bother?"
But she doesn't mean it,
For she's their mother.

She's the controller of land,
Sea and beauty,
Without her there is nothing,
It would be dry and filthy.
