Suffering

by catherine   Dec 17, 2006

I was happy.
I was happy.
I was finally happy.

One thing brought it down.
One thing turned my life around.

You caused this.
You did this.
You caused this.

It's a tragic mayhem.
Maybe it was a mistake.
But it's what I became.

We all suffered.
We all cries.
We all worried.

How could you?
Why would you?

This city whispers hope.
Through the cracks of the building.
Life talks wonders.
But you're only self-concerned.

You've brought us back.
Back to that time,
Back to what we were.

I'm so fatigued.
I'm so confused.
I'm so used.

Time has been turned back.
And it will never return.
It will never be the same.
I'm back to what I became.

*This poem may not make sense for anyone but me, but it is about one event that took me back to all the times I have suffered, if that makes a change in your understanding. It's very personal and took a while to write.
