Hidden Thoughts

by Holly Dorris   Mar 19, 2004

So there have been things going through my head
And some of those thoughts I don’t understand

You have always been there to help me out
And in you, I never had any doubt

Yes, there have been times at you I was irked
But you have never been quite the jerk

Throughout the years, we have become close
And eventually we started laughing at my toes

We went from not standing one another
To as close as a sister and brother

Although there’s more to the story that you do not know
And that’s exactly how I feel for you so

You see, these thoughts in my mind are about you
And everything that you say and do

You say my secret you know
But any expression toward it, you ignore to show

I wish you could just help me out
And remove all of my doubt

You say you want me to tell you first
It’s like somehow you know I’m about to burst

Well now, you’re running out of time
And I’m getting myself into a bind

You see, now there’s this other guy
And why you haven’t said something, I don’t know why

If you would just speak up and say something
I would choose you over him

Here’s where we come to our confusion
You haven’t said anything about our situation

So now, I leave it up to you
And I hope the right thing is what you do
