Choosing You

by Shane   Nov 8, 2006

I know your ways
I too, am poisoned
The collective has diminished
I want the sand to give in to my walk
This walk, that you and I have paved with solitude
Crossing it together doesn't seem that bad

I know the price
I too, am willing
To purge this toxin, this taste, the byproduct
Of dying affection
This time I want to make it right
Your eyes tell me your the cure

The tides change, you know
It can't always be the same
The sun can rise or set
Your kiss can either free or maim
But I want to stand at the edge of this reluctant ocean
And scream

This life, this love
is mine to abandon or redeem.
