The Ecstasy, of You!!!

by Robert Gardiner   Nov 9, 2006

(This is a poem I just wrote to a girl in one of my classes at community college (Michelle) that I'm somewhat enamored, fascinated with, at the moment. I am in fancy of her, intoxicated, enchanted, and enraptured. And I am trying to win her fancy. Now, although there are plenty of things I'd like us to be -- romantically linked (lovers) being my first option -- I just want to build a relationship right now as friends - considering that she has a boyfriend (man) in her life at this time, and if that's a happy, a good relationship, I don't want her to break that off, end it - considering that we don't know what the cards (fate) holds for us romantically, and if he is making her happy, filling her life with love, adoration, and ardent amorous affection, I want her to remain. in such, in that state, but as I told her, if he should stop proving to be her "Mr. Right", I want her to remember me and turn her amatory affections my way. I have definite affinity towards her, and she has a bit towards me, although I don't know how much. But what I'm trying to do is to let her know my earnest interest, and foster that affinity she has towards me. I have graced her other poems already, previously, but felt she deserved a poem of her own, written for her. All I'm trying to do is show my genuine interest and win her over to the thought of me - in whatever aspect that should happen to be, whether love (romance) or just friendship. Can this poem further capture her affections (affinity)? Does it do its job?

The Ecstasy, of You!!!

The ecstasy, of you, is something I await, to get lost in.
I want to fall, into you, and lose myself, therein
Your sweet, spelling, splendor.
Every part of you seduces me, to you, I surrender.
You have, captured me, whole.
By each and every part of you, I am, extolled,
Entranced, enchanted, bewitched, beguiled.
Just the mere essence of you, drives me, so wild.
Taken, I am, enraptured, my being,
By this beautiful vision, of you, I’m seeing.

Fast, beats my heart, as you enter, the room,
By you and your wonder, I'm just, consumed,
Butterflies take hold of me.
With just one look at you, I'm roused, in rhapsody.
Every part of you, I want, to explore.
I’m in, affinity, of you, with such ardor.
Amorous, is my ardent admiration,
Fanciful, my heart, with fervent fascination.
Oh, how you enthrall me, so.
Charmed, I am by you, set aglow,
Engulfed, in exhilaration,
Engrossed, by infatuation,
Intoxicated, by the essence, the thought, of you,
Addicted, inebriated, by your heavenly hue,
The iridescence, resplendence, that just pours, out of you,
Cascading, beauty, rapture, upon, my soul,
Leaving me, transfixed, bewitched, taken whole.
Oh, what sweet and wondrous things, to me, you do.
I get lost, I am lost, in the ecstasy, of you!!!

To all, thanks for your opinions and comments, I expect to give this poem to her tomorrow, on Monday, when I see her again in class. The class only meets on Monday & Wednesday, so my opportunity to see her are limited, but if we get a moment, I'll present it to her on Monday. I plan to also give her a written explanation of my intent, interest, crafted from what I wrote here in the introduction. I am posting it so that you may read it, also:

Explanation of My Intent, Interest:

Michelle, your poem, "The Ecstasy, of You", and every other poem that I give you and all of the things that I do are to express my unadulterated affinity towards you, to express my fascinated fancy, the ardor, with which, I'm enamored, and the fervor of my ardent admiration. By you, I'm intoxicated, enraptured, and enchanted, and I'm just trying to win your fancy. Although there are plenty of things I'd like us to be -- romantically linked (lovers) being my first option -- I just want to build a relationship, right now, as friends. I realize you have a man in your life, already, and if that's a good, happy relationship, I'm cool with the friends' option, just being friends, at this time, and I don't want you to break that off, end that relationship - considering that we don't know what the cards (fate) holds for us romantically, and if he is making your happy, filling your life with love, adoration, and ardent amorous affection, I want you to remain in such, in that state of bliss, but as I told you, if he should stop proving to be "Mr. Right", I want you to remember me and turn your amatory affections towards me, my way. I have a definite affinity towards you, and feel you have a bit towards me -- although I don't know how much. But what I'm trying to do is to let you know my sincere, earnest, interest, and foster that affinity you have towards me. All I'm trying to do is show my genuine interest towards you and win you over, to the thought of me - in whatever aspect that should happen to be, whether it be love (as a lover / romance) or just friendship. I just think you're worth the time, energy, and effort and deserve to be showered with adoration, admiration, and reverence.

    Update:

I made my valiant attempt today and got some resolution. I didn't exactly get the optimum results I wanted but it was good. I when to present her (Michelle) with the poem, letting her know I had written her a poem, but was told by her she could not accept it. See, the thing was her boyfriend had found/seen some of the other poems I had given her and it kind of caused a stir, some trouble, and if her boyfriend was not comfortable with her receiving poems as such from me, and wanted her to stop taking-excepting them I could deal with that. I was fine with the situation -- but I did leave her with the "Explanation of My Intent, Interest" though, so she would at least know and understand where I was coming from and I did let her know - take the time to tell her – that I wasn't trying to get her to leave her boyfriend and that if he makes her happy that she should by all means stay in the relationship. And although things didn't go to my most favorable liking, I let the encounter-experience upbeat and feeling great, because I at least got the opportunity to express my sincere interest!!! Now, we just have to figure out where we go from here... (?)

    Dear Friend,
How very elequant you have written of your feelings. If she can't see the extent of your heart and soul from reading this, then she has no heart or soul. I, too, would love to know how this turns out.

    Fondest wishes
