Her Broken Heart Wont Mend

by Hannah Emellia   Nov 9, 2006

Life is the beginning,
So death must be the end,
Love is not a play-thing,
Her broken heart wont mend,

Day-dreams are a thing of the past,
No love-notes left to send,
Blood-stained carpets on her floor,
Her broken heart wont mend,

Loveless kisses taken to heart,
Her wrists now will she tend,
Make-up to cover up the scars,
Her broken heart wont mend,

"I'll be with you always," he had said,
but now he's gone- and no shoulder will he lend,
Down this darkened path he led,
Her broken heart wont mend,

Picture-perfect wont work anymore,
She wants so much to blend,
Even if he wanted to help,
Her broken heart wont mend,

Life is the beginning,
So death must be the end,
Love is not a play-thing,
Her broken heart wont mend.

    "Life is the beginning,
So death must be the end." That is my fave line from this poem. I really like how the feelings are really strong.

Thank you very much for your comment on my poem "Girl In Mirror". I always appreciate honesty whether it's good or bad. I think we got off on the wrong foot. This poem was amazing though. Seriously. I loved how you repeated certain lines and kept the same rhythm throughout the poem. Great job. 5/5. Take care.
