Josephine

by Ray Anthony   Nov 10, 2006

Theres a story I want to tell
about a girl I knew very well
The girl that seemed to be living a dream
This is the story of the girl Josephine

Everyday she smiles to hide
The terrible pain she feels to inside
No one would have guessed to know
that her smile was just for show

Cuz to many it seemed
Josephine had the life that one could only dream
Coming from a family with all the money in the world
Everyone swore she was a very spoiled girl

But her life of luxury was all but peaceful
Growing up wondering why her father was so deceitful
From the scheming to the cheating and those constant beatings
It was no wonder Josephine couldn't trust people

And by people I mean MEN
She couldn't trust them for nothing
Like most women she knew
She thought they were always up to something

Then one day much to her surprise
Josephine met that special guy
He wined her, dined her and swept her off her feet
But her love for him, she never did speak

She dreamed of this man her entire life
She even hoped that one day she would become his wife
And every time she was with him she wanted to melt
But even with all this, she still didn't tell him how she felt

Josephine never really knew what love was
So she never really knew how to express it
She also didn't know was that one day
She will live to regret it...

That day came when she got a call
That HE was in the hospital
It seemed that Josephine's special friend
Had got into a big car accident.

On her knees she fell to pray
"Please lord don't take him away!"
But Josephine's prayers were a little too late
For the only man she ever loved, had already met his fate

Now by his grave she softly cries
Gently wiping the tears from her eyes
The girl who seemed to be living a dream
But no one knew the pain that was deep inside of Josephine.

I like the point that you're trying to make with this. It's great the way it is but it has some room for improvement. Awesome job!
