Mirage

I saw the lonesome sun;
In shades of white clouds;
Radiating without mercy;
and hanging majestically
In the blue sky;

I could barely open my eyes;
But was rudely awaken;
By the sound of the passing wind;
The cactus tree reminded me;
I am a lone stranger
In this god forsaken land
In the heart of the Sahara...

I sensed the burning heat;
For a while I felt that;
I was in the realms of hell;
Flying sand came along;
With the ruthless wind;
Bringing a foul stench
Of an animal's carcass;
I saw my camel behind me;
Lying dead and slaughtered;
I had killed with regret;

I shall walk alone with these blisters;
I know I am dying but I have hope;
I was in search of a priceless item;
And I would trade my life for it;
I thought saw it in front of me;
But I now have searched in vain;

I continue my journey;
Hauling my tired soul with it;
It was my only choice;
But I breathed my last breath here;
Collapsed and given in to dehydration ...
My illusions has driven me here;
I was deceived by a mirage;
and to die a lonely death...
I shall be buried here by a mountain of sand...
