Between worlds

Between worlds

Who am I?

Why am I?

What am I?

Where is my place?

I am both conquered and conquer.

I seek to know finding less is known

I can no more change my past, then change my soul

I live in a land that must be bought

Though this is a land they stole

I know not of the great deeds

Nor of the great sorrows of my past

They taught me what they wanted

They failed to mention their peoples greed

They told me of battles fought and wars won.

They told of storied glories

They told of us

Though I am not them nor they me.

I knew that some was omitted

What I knew not

I sought the light

Only to see tragedy

I now see that which they hid from me

They stole the land from sea to sea in the name of manifest destiny
