How Cupid came to be

Cupid's Confession

The tournament at the archery club, the big one of the year.
The age limit starts at 30, but Cupid was no where near.
It's not fair because at age ten
he was twice as good as all of them.

So he thought with all his might,
Until the light bulb went bright.
And he thought of a plan,
To dress up like a man.

Finally at the tournament he shot perfect every time,
he was hitting the bull's-eye at the drop of a dime.
He knew he had to be cautious,
But he was getting kind-of nauseous.

And all of a sudden they knew he had cheated,
And with a look on his face he was doomed and defeated.
The gods and goddesses had to do something,
They stripped him of his clothes, and left absolutely nothing.

He took his magical bow and arrow and stormed out
He was furious so he took a fly, and roamed about.
He wanted to get the gods angry by disturbing human affinity,
Thinking that this would get rid of all the peace and serenity.

With his love arrows he shot two people who were totally different
Thinking they would fight and eventually become indifferent.
The couple fell for each other and were totally head over heels,
While cupid kept shooting waiting for hatred to slowly reveal.

He didnâ??t stand a chance
Against the grip of romance.
In his initial intension to get the people to refract
He never stopped to realize that opposites attract.
