Giving up on you

by samantha   Nov 14, 2006

If you want me call me
If you call me be sober
Do you love me, am I not worth it
You lost everyone you love
Including your daughter
Is that not enough to give it up
Cry in your beer is all you ever do
I love you I want to see you
Because your heart is golden
But your disease is never broken
I can't see you until you can see me
I don't know if I'm talking to the man I used to love
I loved you when I didn't even know you
My efforts to see you as a child have slowly gone as a teenager
Now I can see
Who you really are
Now I can see that you will never change
I have a step father now that in the last few months has been more then a father to me then you have been in the last 15 years
But hes not my dad you are
But I'm done trying and I sure as hell am done crying

A sad but true poem. Old habits are hard to kick. At lest he's a man with a heart, and he loves you he just has a problem- like my brother's father [who my mom let die alone in a hotel of an overdose]. Never completely give up on him, just wipe your tears and kept your cheeks dry.
