Carved From Stone

by xTheEcstasyOfSuicidex   Nov 14, 2006

Take this heart now carved from stone,
Take this heart, now your own.
This beautiful vision nothing can compare,
To your sacred heart is a beauty so fair.

A gorgeous stranger all alone,
Take this heart now carved in stone,
Charish what is yours, forever confess,
This love of yours you may caress.

A joyous dance upon a soul of light,
You are my love, my one delight,
Take this heart now carved from stone,
Forever you will hold it as your own.

As the sun surrenders to the moon,
I\'ll be with you to hold you soon,
Take my heart, now your own,
Take this heart, now carved from stone.

Aww it's sad, but cute. I know that must be hard to understand, but that was how I saw it.

The flow was good, the rhymes were original for the most part, and the imagery was great. I thought this was depressing but still cute at the same time, 'cause you said that you loved someone still to give up your heart, but he had hurt you in some way. Great job. =) 5/5 xoxo

Mostly, I loved how you repeated the first two lines again at the end. It made this already lovely poem so much stronger, so much more effective than it already was. One small criticism to make, I don't know if you've noticed, but you seem to have mis-spelt cherish. Other than that, it's a beautiful poem, and I'm glad I saw your discussion post and read it.
