Revealed and Yet Soon to Perish

by sibyllene   Nov 15, 2006

It is now the flare
before the final falling—
day's bright exodus.

The world glows scarlet
with the sullen, seething pride
of dying embers.

One last fiery throb—
a heartbeat from a red sun
as the light expires.
