The old swing

Down by the old river
lay a quiet little park
where a young couple sits
upon an old black swing
slowly rocking back and forth
fallen leaves gracefully dance
in a soothing fall breeze
before finally coming to a rest
in the ever dying grass
as the couple sits
slowly rocking back and forth
he wraps his arms around her
silently letting her know
he'll never let her go
she lay her head upon his chest
listening to the steady beat
of his heart
as they slowly swing back and forth
looking out over the murky water
quietly watching the sun slowly set
painting a masterpiece in the sky
before disappearing behind the distant horizon
as they sit upon the old black swing
in a quiet little park
down by the old river
slowly swinging back and forth
