Judgment

by Kendra   Mar 21, 2004

It engulfs our heart and swims through our soul
It lies within every story we’re told.

Born with it, but fight it we’re able
Of it the whole world is full

Every look towards someone it is expressed
Why can’t we just give judgment a rest?

We’re all truly just the same
Whether or not we have the same name

Whether or not our clothes match
Whether or not on our hearts there’s a patch

Because…

Our hearts are able to dance at the sign of love,
And praise someone from higher above.

We all feel feelings of gladness,
Victory, failure, achievement and sadness

We all have bittersweet memories to share
And hidden feelings we all bare

We can all read amazing stories of heroes like Zeus
And all watch a movie ending with a truce

We can all hear the buzzing of the bumblebees
And see the colored flowers and the tall green trees

But instead of embracing the similar traits
Judgment jumps to a skyrocketing rate

Judgment lives in all of us like a parasite on a host
It’s so consistent we know that it will never be to uniqueness we toast

Instead we’ll continue judging and hurting others
So much that others will have to keep their true self-undercover

Yet I find it most inside myself
I’m unable to put it away somewhere on a shelf

I find it bottled up inside
Instead I try to say its not and lie

But it’s inside all of us
Whether out in the open or full of dust

So I ask God, the heavenly one,
-God, let us praise difference, and let judgment be done!-

it was an english assignment, but in the end i really liked it and decided to share it with you, tell me if you liked it. i hope i get an A!! haha
