Cold Day

by Brent Hopper   Mar 21, 2004

I saw her just once from afar.
She was entering a building, I was in my car.
Our eyes locked for what seemed eternity.
Igniting a flame that still burns in me.
I can't give you her name, nor where she's from.
Yet the sole essence of her beauty left my body numb.
Quickening the pace of my beating heart.
Knowing quite well she soon would part.
Meaningless it would be to tell her my emotions.
For she has someone in which she focuses her devotion.
He is inside that building she is soon to enter.
And exit my path on this cold day in winter.
