Night Thoughts

by Thomas A Michel   Nov 22, 2006

On my bed I lay awake,
Thinking my love is no mistake.
If he'll let me I'll care forever,
But it's up to me if we'll stay together.

Bald, ugly, poor or fat,
All my friends know I don't care about that.
The person inside is who I love,
He doesn't have to be a GOD from above.

I do have thoughts we won't last long,
But he always seems to prove me wrong.
The little things he does each day,
Helps me melt my doubt away.

I love the way he looks at me,
His love for me is plain to see.
In his voice and in his eyes,
He lets me know he tells no lies.
His arms around me holding tight,
Lets me know everything's all right.

These are my thoughts as I drift to sleep,
My love for him I will always keep.
But if a doubt should come again,
I know my love for him will never end.
