A Wading Angel

by Kalgalath   Nov 24, 2006

I have seen an angel
She is wading in a frozen lake
The ice, broken from where she walks
She is lost and searching for something

I stand, with watchful eyes
Curious as to what she is looking for
She does not speak,
And does not take heed to my presence

It is bitter cold outside
There is snow all around
What could induce an angel to do such a deed?
I can only impel what it could be

I stand on the shore,
Willing her to take notice to my eyes, boring into her,
She hesitates from what she is doing,
And looks into them

She is frightened,
I called to her and told her not to fear
I mean you no harm
I only wish to know what you are searching for

The angel gives me a queer stare
Looking surprised
I feel a presence in my mind that is not my own
The angel is communicating to me through our minds

She sends me emotions,
Terrible emotions
Of hate, anger, greed, rage, envy, gluttony, and fear
I do not understand what she is trying to tell me

But I do know that I do not like the feeling
'Tis sad that an angel feels this way
A beautiful angel as this one, Which seems so humbled
She is confused

I go into the water to try and comfort her
She begins to flee form me
I try to send her my emotions of love, calm, joy, and happiness
And she suddenly stops

It has been a long while,
Since she has even sensed those emotions
She turns around,
And our eyes lock

I seem to sense what the angel was searching for
It was I
The angel was looking for someone to care for her,
She has found that someone

It's as if I was meant to go to the lake,
On this cold winter morning
I did not understand at first
But now it's as clear as the sky
I was supposed to find an angle, and care for her
That angel is you

I thought this was really sweet.
I really enjoyed the last stanza.
The flow threw me off at times, but apart from that I think you did a good job.
