The Same Old Story

by Levi   Nov 26, 2006

Telling the same old story one more time,
It's happened so much it's become a crime.
Why do you expect me to believe all your lies?
I'm not blind I can see with my own two eyes.

I don't think you realize that I do understand,
Don't bend the truth and don't offer me your hand.
Cause I'm much more than that; you'll soon see,
And when it happens; you and I will cease to be.

I still don't see why you continue to tell me lies,
It's like I'm only here for the heart breaking ride.
Well my ticket's been lost and I'm getting off,
Cause you've told to many lies and I've had enough.

I don't have a past with you cause it never existed,
Your lies are like sun burn and now they've blistered.
They hurt me even though I've moved on you know,
And at the moment you don't seem to care where I go.

Did you ever even care at all; I'm sure you did at one time,
But now you've just become a lie and the truth I cannot find.
You're telling the same old story full of lies once more,
And your version of the truth I have to once again ignore.

It's just that I don't know whether or not what you say is true,
Your truth is something completely different from what I knew.
I guess if you don't want to admit what you said was all lies,
Then don't come running to me with tears in your deceitful eyes.

The same old story has caused me to finally accept my mistake,
I don't know why I stayed longer than my heart could take...
You could give me some hope to think you're sorry by saying goodbye,
But you won't even give me that or are you just waiting till I die?

Telling the same old story one more time,
I would say something else but never mind...

It confused me a little bit, but you did a nice job with long lines and keeping them rhyming. Good job with that!
