A love that ran deep

by freedom   Nov 26, 2006

I remember when our worlds would collide
When love would shine from our eyes
Where laughter always showed
No frown did we know
The secrets we always shared
Even when we were scared
No fear did we behold
Happiness was all we sold
Tears we cried from joy
Sadness was just a false story
Yelling was never done
Music was all that would come
My heart was yours
As yours was mine
You never walked away
As I stayed behind
My heart didn't break
When you never were a mistake
This love wasn't a lie
So I will never cry
Its been 5 years since youve been gone
Our great love I will always tell our son
And when you thought I was asleep
You would whisper in my ear I was yours to keep
You told me every night that I was your dream
That I lit up your life & was the sow to the seam
Then you would ask me while I sleep
If I thought our love ran steep
My answer all along
Was you were right were you belong

I liked the idea for this poem but you kept changing the rhyme scheme throughout the whole thing and it kind of threw off the flow to it... making it harder to follow.
"Its been 5 years since youve been gone"
    youve = you've

I think if you read it over again and maybe tweak a few of the lines that sound a bit off then this poem could be amazing.. its still preaty good but you need a bit of work.

  • Not yourbest, but it rhymes well, the message was pretty good, all in all a 5/5 Good work.
