A Letter

There's something I have to say
because hearts are often broken,
so coldly and truly,
by words left unspoken.
The words I'm writing down
are all so very true.
Here it is, all on paper,
my letter to you.

Dear My Best Friend,
There's something I want you to know.
I've held it in for so long.
Now, I'm ready to let my feelings show.
You've been my friend forever,
and I know it's not just a crush.
It's way more. You may not believe it,
but I love you very much.
All I'm asking for is a chance.
Do you feel the same as I do?
Even if you say "no,"
I'll still love you.

I'll seal the letter with a kiss,
and send it off to you.
I just hope as you read it,
you feel the same as I do.
