A Boy And A Girl

She gets out of the car
and looks up to find
that boy she adores
the boy on her mind

he's standing by his mom
the preacher's hand, he shakes
she couldn't miss the butterflies
and the flips her stomach makes

he walks inside the church
she follows close behind
that boy she adores
the boy on her mind

he sits in the pew behind her
she keeps looking back to see
she keeps hoping that maybe
her heart's where it's supposed to be

he looks so cute just sitting there
listening to the preacher's every word
he speaks the truth and so does her heart
but she's scared to make her feelings heard

he walks out of the church
she follows close behind
that boy she adores
the boy on her mind

she walks up to him
and stands by her side
she wonders what he's thinking
as she looks into his eyes

"you look cute today" she tells him
"thank you, so do you"
"you're cute everyday, though" she says
"you're cute everyday, too"

she wonders if she heard right
she wonders what's on his mind
she wants to know what will happen
she wants to know what she'll find

she walks away
after saying goodbye
gets in the car
and drives on by

he's left standing alone
staring as the car drives away
the car with that girl
the one he thinks about everyday

he looks up again
surprised by what he finds
that girl he adores
the girl on his mind

the car comes back
she climbs out and it drives away
she wants to talk to that boy
the one she thinks about everyday

she walks over to him
and stands by his side
she wonders what he's thinking
as she looks into his eyes

"there's something you need to know
something about you
you see, I'm in love"
he says "I'm in love, too"

she looks at him and wonders
who he's talking about
she opens her mouth to speak
but then he blurts out

"you look cute today"
he blushes and looks at his shoe
"I love you" she says
he says "I love you, too"

he looks down at that girl
only love, in her eyes, he finds
that girl he adores
the girl on his mind

she stares back at that boy
the one she wants to stay
she's so in love with that boy
the one she thinks about everyday
