Loving Again

We already been through ups and downs,

And had our share of smiles and frowns.

You knew my pain from the past,

But still took a chance and wanted to make it last.

I came into the relationship with scars and blinded eyes,

But once again you helped me come alive.

You held me tight and whispered in my ears,

But what you didn't see was my line of tears.

In these times they were never tears of sorrow,

But tears of happiness knowing you'll be there tomorrow.

You gave me an everlasting cure,

With your love ever so pure.

When you said I love you,

I looked in your eyes and knew it was true.

You followed the words with a sweet kiss,

And it filled my stomach with butterflies of spring bliss.

I was afraid for so long to say those three words,

But they flowed out like the elegant flight of a bird.

And I knew that it was true,

For one of the reasons; it was you.

You lifted my spirit and completed my soul,

Always making my gloomy days no longer low.
