True love be a ghost

by Robbie M   Nov 29, 2006

"Love is a lake. For it has the ability
to sustain life along with destroy it."
Said the man next to me outta nowhere.
"Two bodies, two souls,
But one heart and one mind,
That together they must share."
With a grin of his face
And a frown upon mine.
I tell the old man to "Stop."
"I have felt enough pain
For my heart, it has slain
From memories I wish I had forgot."
Then a tear had replaced
The grin upon his face
And "I'm sorry" was all he could say.
His hand tugged upon my sleeve
As the old man got up to leave
And spoke words that I hear to this day.
"Pains of love sweeter far
Then all other pleasures are,
And forgetting won't solve a damn thing.
Remember this among most;
True love be a ghost,
Everyone talks about 'em, yet few have seen."
