The Last Breath

by katie   Nov 29, 2006

" Your too thin."
The blind girl said to the tree.
" Your ribs poking out like that, why you look like your wasting away, have you never eaten? Has nobody ever fed you?"
But really it was the blind girl wasting away to nothing. Her skin tight, taunt over her cheek bones and hollow eyes. The jaggedness of her emaciated body, easily visible through the rags she wore. Each and every part of her jutted out of her paper thin skin, the bones. A walking, breathing skeleton.
" Your lips are cracking, has nobody ever given you a drink? What are you thirsting for? Why don't you better yourself? Your bleeding now, What's that you say? Why your lips are so dry, your talking in a whisper. Don't try to talk, save your energy. You will need it later. Just sleep, that's it, just sleep now."
The blind girl mouthed, and fell still against the tree.
