The days are long
and the nights are cold
wondering where you are
and why you had to go
you left me here alone
all alone and on my own
I know it wasn't your fault
and I know you loved me so
but being here without you
feels nothing like home
I hate the way you had to leave
I hate that God took you away from me
Why wasn't I there to stop you
Stop you before you started
Why didn't you come to me that night
instead of leaving me here to ponder
I don't know what to do without you
my smiles feel so fake
the summers aren't so fun
without you with me under the sun
