Pennies Nickels and Dimes

by Mr O   Dec 2, 2006

At the end of another long day
I reach into my pockets
Whats left of my money to put away

For the rainy times

A large glass jar sat squarely on my dresser table
Awaiting new coins
Spare change saved if I was able

Pennies, nickels, and dimes

Tired and weary my last thoughts reserved for you
If only I could capture them
And make them all be true

Oh my foolish heart

Blinking my eyes as sleep creeps behind me
I sight the jar filled mostly with copper
And think; if wishes cost but a penny

Where would I start

I would empty that jar sat squarely on my dresser table
And spend every cent
On just one wish if I was able

All my wishes for you

Then you would be here lying by my side
No need for wishes
My dreams abide

If all my wishes came true
And I saved one penny for you

Ohhhh that is such a emotion filled poem and in my opinion "cute" would be a good word or more like "sweet" because it made me feel like it was about me and ...wait nvm girly rambling
