My Broken Angel

by Poetess Lana   Dec 4, 2006

He falls from the sky,
slowly floating to the
place where I stand.
His pale, translucent
wings float behind
him, one bent
at an odd angle.

An angel...
He is a perfect,
beautiful angel.

His beautiful face,
eyes closed, as I
look down upon him,
wondering how this came
to be. I look down his
arms, see the scars of
an old sinner, wondering
how somebody so beautiful
could do something wrong.
His broken wing folded
under his strangely angled
body, his other wing
glittering in the moonlight.

An angel...
he is a perfect,
beautiful angel.

I reach out to
touch the face, the
strange, beautiful,
otherworldly face.
Will it melt beneath my fingertips?

An angel...
He is a perfect,
beautiful angel.

My broken angel.

Oh wow. this poem was beautifully written. i loved your choice of words & the flow. there's nothing i could try to change about it. when i read about the angel i thought about a character from my favorite video game [Sephiroth from FFVII] & mannnn it made it better! 5/5
