A daunting journey

by katie!   Dec 4, 2006

Waving children, Lots of shouting
Mothers crying, Teenagers Pouting
What could this be for? I hear you cry!
Why of course it is the ferry to the Isle of Wight

That daunting journey, of less than an hour
Lifejacket instructions and plastic flowers
The TV tells you about the steam railway
Fishing villages and Crab sandwiches in the bay

Theres a scouser talking about the donkey rides
There are no rollercoasters! This is the Isle of Wight!
The \"inflight\" bar serves drinks the whole way
And it\'s half price if your ticket is two way!

I run along beside it, everytime it leaves
Screaming goodbye! Even when no one waves
My ellie wellies are slocking on my tired feet
But if I run fast enough, I just might beat

Somedays the ferry tilts on the wave
But I\'m safe in portsmouth, I\'m ok!
It rocks almost two inches to the right
Yes that far! Will it make it? It\'s gonna be tight

I think I need a sit down, this is too stressed
Hey, it\'s alright, no need to be depressed!
Although the ferrys gone, everything will be fine
Because it\'ll be back in ten minutes time!
