What can you do?

by OneToughCookie   Dec 5, 2006

Wait in the dark for the bright light of day,
need the assurance of day, to help you on your way,
more than once you need what isn't there,
and wait and wait in all your despair.
the missing piece lying solemn in the dark,
waiting for that one crucial ark,
that time in life when it turns around,
to help you up, not throw you down,
do what you can to make the best,
take it, break it, get to the test,
you can't lie or hide in fear,
but what you need, you need to hear,
from the one you love and the one you hate,
keep all the good, and accept your fate,
walking is easy, when the road is flat,
but the hills stop you in your tracks,
keep on moving, don't hold back,
one step at a time, to be where you're at,
once again the silence surrounds you, consumes you, dissolves your soul,
there's nothing to do, but wait for the end, and understand what you need, is always there, just hard to find.
