I never knew what I had until I lost you.
You were my best friend,
And you meant the world to me.
I kept thinking you would come back,
But you never did.
I stayed up every night in my room,
And just cried for hours.
Thinking about how you used to come in my room,

And just nuzzle me with your big, cold, wet nose.
You could always put a smile on my face,
No matter how sad or mad I was.
I always thought Id have you until I graduated.
Have you to lie on the bottom of my bed,
Every night stealing my blankets.
Mom and Dad said you left because you were sick.
I convinced myself that if I stayed with you,
I couldve prevented everything and you would still be here.
Sitting on my bed staring at me with your big brown eyes,
Running in the yard with me chasing twigs,
Stopping all these tears streaming down my face,
With all your fur.
But, youre not here for any of it.
Youve been gone for almost four years,
And still I cant get over you.
I know youre in a better place,
