Father

by Iola   Dec 5, 2006

Your very soul a rock of stone.
Your motto the fear to be alone.
Your wings spread wide, a protection of us.
Your life a biography of love and trust.

My father the maker of our family chain.
Keeping us safe from life's agony and pain.
Laughter penetrating and addictive, a sword with to sides.
Respect earned by a leader, a heart that multiplies.

Your days lived within boundaries, your feet on solid ground.
You keep seeing the unspoken, understanding without a sound.
Your love of God a shaker, you bow in humble prayer.
This father of example, our man of love, will be missed if no longer there.
