Moonlight on Roses

by Lore   Dec 6, 2006

Silver moonlight on the blackest of water
Divines our lives in a singular moment
Changing what the fate has woven
This is the reaction that changes our lives
Sealing our fate with a lover's embrace
Seal this moment with a rose's ebony kiss
So show me the future my heart must see
Blind me from the horrors that might once be
Give me naught but moonlight on roses
And maybe the knowledge that love has shown us
Silver moonlight on the blackest of water
Shows us where to bestow a rose's ebony kiss

((Note from Author: I know this poem is a wee bit dark for such a romantic name it has and I hope it will not make you like this poem less than if it were about light, rainbows or hell bunnies. I wrote this poem to shed the assumption that for love be romantic you have to talk about rainbows and princes or lost maidens who are searching for their love. Not that those things are bad I just wanted to be outside of the box for a little and I had a ton of fun doing it with this poem and hope to do it again soon. Sorry if this note annoyed you or offended you in anyway))
