When we met, I was sure you were different.
You were going to be the one who didn't break my heart.
Turns out, I was dead wrong.
And you broke it worse than I could have ever imagined.

This story starts out like a fairytale.
Late-night conversations and full-hearted smiles.
I never once thought about, "too good to be true."
It all seemed so perfect.
I guess my mistake was just falling for you.

The fairytale slowly begins to decay.
As dreams are shattered and lives forever changed.
It was you who decided I wasn't worth the time.
And it was then that I realized you were nothing but lies.

Memories of what used to be still linger about.
Deep inside my memory you're still severing my heart.
The anguish you've caused is a secret I lock away.
Breaking my heart was your mistake.
