Away

by Diana   Dec 8, 2006

Rose bushes sway in a slight breeze
the sun is hot upon my knees
the clouds go slowly passing by
the leaves of the trees rustle a soft lullaby

With my back to the bench i read a book
it takes me away like a fish on a hook
as i read i become what is there
a wizard on a broom or a large grizzly bair

As i read on I'm far away from people or noise
I'm like a kid these books are my toys
to me reading is fun its something to do
it takes you away from all your troubles and lets you be you

As i read i become the book I'm not here no more
sitting on the beach my bed or the floor
books are my freedom they set my free
its my special way to get away from the world and just be like me
