Consumed

by Lyra   Dec 9, 2006

One thousand whispers that suddenly, steeply
Slip from my lips, could never compare
To one thousand glances embedded so deeply
Into twin ice-blue eyes, and the love I find there
Fields of dandelions, their dreams still not blown
To the wind, though it beckons, can never replace
The heart thats still tearing, and yet is still sewn
Back together each time my arms feel your embrace
And one thousand poems, though so well contrived
With one thousand words, rhymed in nonchalant cue
Could never express, although Ive so strived
How painfully deeply I love and want you
But, though my arms and my soul both do reach
For the need which so pulses to be now returned
One thing have my few years left yet to teach
Dont stand near a flame, or else youll be burned
