The Letter

by Virna Estella   Dec 10, 2006

The sky cried for me tonight...
Yesterday, I asked for a sign from above
'Bout the letter I wrote for my love,
Which I sealed with kisses, hoping we'll be alright.

The next day, I woke up with a sigh
For I am afraid that my prayers won't come to life.
All day long I looked into the sky,
Waiting for my stars to say "It's gonna be okay".

Then came the moment, His will be done.
I crossed my fingers as I slowly look upon.
But I saw nothing than a huge, dark sky.
Oh, how sad it is to watch my wish fade and die!

I went home, not any word can I say.
I would just have to get the letter off my way.
Now, it's clear and I must face the truth--
He's not the love God destined to sweep me off my right foot!

Suddenly, I felt the breeze on my face.
And one by one, the drizzle began to water the place.
So I worry not of the love that slipped out of my hands,
For I know God cried to, that same moment He refused to give me the one that I want.
