Now It Hurts

Another night of hell again
This cycle never comes to an end

Words are thrown around,
She gets knocked to the ground.

Day after day she goes back to this place
That leaves her hopeless and bruises on her face...

He claims he loves her over and over again,
She smiles and calls him her best friend.

She forgives him and forgets their fights
She tries to get over those horrible nights

Those nights where she slept quietly in tears
Next to the boy filling her up with fears

Those nights when she met the kitchen floor,
When she was weak, pinned up against the door...

Those nights when she learned to defend herself,
Those nights when she needed some help

When glass would break and pictures would fall,
The room was deafening from wall to wall...

Those nights that made her want to leave,
But then she was too gullible to believe

That he really didn't care about her at all,
He stood there and made her fall...

She still swears that none of it hurt,
Even when she was lying against the dirt...

But now she sees him and remembers the past,
Heartbreak and headaches hit her fast...

She's trying to forget the hell she once had,
When her perfect life went bad...

She tries to move on but nothing works,
this is the time when that pain seriously hurts...
